Every three years the Downtown Church family conducts a shepherd affirmation/reaffirmation process to select new shepherds and reaffirm current shepherds who desire to continue serving. The Shepherd Selection Process begins with the nomination of men who currently do not serve as Downtown shepherds. The selection process allows for all of our church family to be involved in the selection of their shepherds. It also prompts deep introspection by shepherd nominees and currently serving shepherds who seek to be reaffirmed. The congregation is encouraged to spend time in prayer during this process, asking God to be with those men who are called to serve our church family. The following documents guide the Shepherd Selection process and outline the roles and responsibilities of the Selection Committee, the congregation, potential new shepherds, and existing shepherds.
